S.B. Dissanayake Demands Resignation of Dinesh?

 

Joint Opposition MP Dinesh Gunawardena said in Parliament, as Government ignoring the JO, possibility of a Military Coup exists.

In response S.B. Dissanayake Minister of Social Empowerment and Welfare said, in a media conference called by him, while Parliament discussed the votes on expenditure on President, PM and 22 independent organisations, Joint Opposition MP Dinesh Gunawardena said, that if they continue to ignore the views of the opposition that would lead to Military Coup. His view created problems in the minds of the people.

In the year 1960 there was an attempted military coup to capture power from Sirimavo Bandaranaike. It was not successful.  As far as India is backing us there is no possibility of staging a Military coup in Srilanka, he concluded.
