Bus strike launched last midnight cause immense difficulties to public specially office workers . Although Lanka Private Bus Owners Association Gemunu Wijeratne claimed yesterday, that Minister of Transport under took to reconsider Rs 25, 000 fine for violation certain traffic rules , officials of the transport Ministry denied a meeting or discussion held with Minister yesterday. Gemunu told the journalist yesterday as assurance was given by the Minister to reconsider Rs 25000 fine , no need to participate in the strike. However, members of his Lanka Private Bus Owners Association too have joined the strike, which reflects that the Gemunu has no control over his members.
Although CTB buses are providing its maximum service to the public, still people was seen hanging in bus halts expecting buses. Some of the scenes on Galle road can be seen below.
