The former General Secretary of United National Party Tissa Attanayake is accused of forging the signatures of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and President Maithripala Sirisena in a letter. Attanayake, who defected from the then opposition and was made Health Minister for less than three weeks, is accused of fabricating the document to discredit the President and the PM.
The Colombo High Court today (5) granted bail to Tissa Attanayake in the case against him for allegedly preparing fraudulent documents. He was released on a personal bail of Rs.25,000 and two personal bails of Rs.500,000 each.
