Special Institute be Established to Regulate School Van Operations

Deputy Minister of Transport Ashoka Abeysinghe said, there are more than 45,000 school vans in operation in Srilanka.
The government intends on ensuring a quality service by school van drivers. Discussions will be held with representatives of school van associations.
He said the government has vested the responsibility of regulating van operations in the National Council on Road Safety.
Ashoka Abeysinghe stated representatives of school vans are engaged in discussions with the members of the council.
In order to regulate school van operations   the government intends establishing a   special body.
