Doctors went on strike on 30th November 2016 demanding not to take away pension rights, to renew tax on second employment income( channelling) , receiving funds from Tobacco company and allowing Private Medical Colleges in Sri lanka. Followed by the strike they had a discussion with the Ministry of Finance Ravi Karunanayake and Minister of Health Rajitha Senaratne , which was not successful. Hence, they meet on Thursday 8th December 2016 to decide on strike action again, GMOA said yesterday(5).
