Health Ministry Probe on Bribery Allegation Against Prison Doctors

Secretary of the Ministry  of Health , Anura Jayawickrama said that a number of complaints were lodged against the prison  doctors.

 Health Ministry  has commenced investigations with regard to allegations that certain doctors at the Welikada Prison Hospital are obtaining bribes.

He said, the truth about these allegations will be revealed only  through the investigations.

Jayawickrama said, the complaints have been lodged against certain doctors in connection with hospitalising politicians, and certain other individuals, who are sent to serve prison time, after obtaining bribes.
