Rajinikanth Launches Dhanush-Soundarya’s VIP2, see pics

The sequel to Velaiyilla Pattathari starring Dhanush went on he floors on Thursday with the blessings of superstar Rajinikanth. The Kabali actor kick-started the film, directed by his second daughter Soundarya, with traditional mahurat clap and wishing the film’s team all the best.
“Wishing #Vip2 team all the very best … god bless,” tweeted Rajinikanth, who was also accompanied by his wife Latha.
Along with actor Dhanush and director Soundarya, the film’s other star cast including, Vivek, Amala Paul, Samuthirakani and producer Kalaippuli S Thanu were also present at the function.

Overwhelmed by the presence of the Thalaivar himself, Dhanush, who is also Rajinikanth’s son-in-law, said he could not have asked for more. “What more can i ask ?? #thanksthalaiva (sic) with all your blessings #vip2 kick starts from today. #raghuvaranisback.”
 Soundarya, meanwhile, thanking her parents, also sought the blessings of the fans. “#Vip2 Pooja day today … need all your blessings (sic) thank you amma & Appa for blessing the team @dhanushkraja @theVcreations,” she tweeted.

Soundarya made her directional debut in 2014 with India’s first motion capture film Kochadaiiyaan, starring Rajinikanth in the lead. VIP2 marks the second collaboration of Soundarya with Kalaippuli S Thanu, who is also producing Nilavukku Enmel Ennadi Kobam. V Creations also produced Rajinikanth’s blockbuster film this year, Kabali, which created an all-time worldwide box office record for a Tamil film.
The bilingual film will be shot in Tamil and Telugu and will be co-produced by V Creations along with Wunderbar Films.
The 2014 blockbuster film, Velaiyilla Pattathari, was the first major hit for Wunderbar Films. It revolves around an unemployed engineering graduate, Raghuvaran, and how he overcomes all the challenges to become successful.
