Provincial Health Service Drivers of NCP on Strike

Provincial Health Service drivers of the North Central Province (NCP) wanted   to implement a procedure to recruit Health Service drivers  in the NCP.  On May 6th  2016  they launched  a hunger strike for  7 continuous  days . They ended  their strike on promise given  that  their requirement would be met  within a  short period. Since then , six months had passed , no solution found yet.  Hence,  they  resorted to strike action from this morning(21).
The Provincial Secretary said,  that cabinet approval  to recognise  them as departmental  employees  has not yet been received.  In the meantime, Its Chairman Wasantha Kumara  urged the authorities to approve the procedure without any delay.
