Mahinda’s Claim of Selling Lands to Foreign Companies Rejected
Minister of Public Enterprise Development Kabir Hashim said, previous Mahinda’s regime released acres of lands on free-hold for overseas companies but our government has no intention of selling lands to foreign companies.
He further said the present administration has been working transparently to achieve sustainable development in the country. The government has sought directives from the Attorney General’s Department prior to signing agreements with foreign companies.
The present government will not threaten the sovereignty of the country by arriving at bilateral agreements with international countries.
The Public Enterprise Development Minister said as a responsible government, it has considered implications for regional countries before signing agreements with China and Europe.
