Former MP Duminda Silva is currently in the death roll serving prison sentence in connection with the murder of Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra.
Bribery Commission has filed three separate cases against Duminda Silva for not declaring his assets and liabilities for three years . However, prison officials informed Colombo Magistrate Courts that he was brought in an ambulance and he is not physically fit to be brought to court even by wheelchair.
Colombo Additional Magistrate Aruni Artygalle observed, that no medical report has been submitted by the prison officials. Hence she ordered the prison hospital to submit a report on his medical condition when the case will be taken up for inquiry again on 26th January 2017.
