Home Food for Wimal Weerawansa in Remand

Sasi Weerawansa, wife of Wimal Weerawansa made an application to the commissioner of Prison to permit her to bring and give home food to Wimal. As this request was accepted and permission granted, Wimal is enjoying home food as from Wednesday (11). Since his remand, he tasted his home lunch on Wednesday.

He was remanded in the case filed by the FCID, where he is accused of obtaining 40 vehicles on rent for use by his kith and kin and caused loss of 91 million to the state during his tenure as Minister of Housing.

In a meeting held yesterday, State Minister for Power Ajith Perera said, that Wimal Weerawansa has accepted ordering to obtain 40 vehicles on rental basis and issue them to his kith and kin.
