Delimitation Committee Final Report Hand over Today

The Ministry of Local Government and Provincial Councils said, that  it has not been officially informed that the National Delimitation Committee will hand over its final report today (17).

However on an earlier date the Chairman of the Delimitation Committee, Asoka Peiris said the final report which bears the signatures of all the members of the committee will be handed over today.

The Chairman said the representative of the United National Party in the committee S Misbah had not signed the report as of last evening.

In the meantime  the Executive Director of People’s Action for Free and Fair Elections Rohana Hettiarachchi threatened to take legal action against the Minister of Local Government and Provincial Councils Faizer Mustapha over the failure to conduct the local government polls.

He also said if the final demarcation report was not submitted today as promised, he will file a case against National Delimitation Committee.
