Considering the Cost of Production Sugar Price Won’t be Reduced -Rishad

Minister of Industry and Commerce Rishad Bathiudeen speaking at an event in Palawatte said, that  reducing price or imposing a control price on a kilogram of sugar does not help cover the production cost.

 Steps will be taken to uplift the production of sugar through the use of new technology.

The Minister said the Lanka Sugar Company is in turn incurring large losses. The government is attempting to introduce a programme to help address the matter.
