Petitions Against Lanka E-News Editor to be Amended

A case was filed against the Chief Editor of Lanka e-News website Sandaruwan Senadeera  in connection with the  allegations of publishing false information and thereby insulting the judiciary.
When the case was  taken up today, the  Supreme Court ordered  to  amend  petition  and tabled in Court on the 16th May 2017 .
The case was taken up before a three member bench Buwaneka Aluwihare, Kithsiri De Abrew and Anil Gunaratne.
President’s Counsel Hemantha Warnakulasuriya tabling facts in Court said the residential address provided by Senadeera, that indicate he resides in Malabe, was false.
The Council informed Court that Senadeera was currently overseas claiming the Criminal Investigations Department has identified his overseas location.
Accordingly the Supreme Court ordered the petitioner’s attorney Madhura Welgama to table the petition following amendments according to the present developments.
