Rice Raids in 75 Trade Centers by Consumers Affairs Authority

On  direction given by  the   Minister  of  Industry and Commerce Rishad Bathiudeen  75  trade centers were  raided  by  the Consumer Affairs Authority  officials  on  day before yesterday(6). In these  raids  21 trade centers  were found  selling rice above the maximum  retail price fixed and announced by the state.

In  March up to now 238 trade centers were  raided and action  taken against 156 traders, who violated  fixed  maximum price for rice by the state.
