Srilankan Airlines to be Sold to American TPG – Eran

Deputy Minister of Public Enterprise Development Eran Wickramaratne said, government has decided to sell SriLankan Airlines to  American Texas Pacific Group (TPG) airlines services.

When the  SriLankan Airlines was to be privatize during the year 1992, American  Texas Pacific Group (TPG)  made a request  to offer it to them.  But  the then government  had given it to emirates.

 There is no connection  what so ever between  American  Texas Pacific Group (TPG)  airlines and Perpetual Treasuries.  TPG airlines  is a well recognized organization.

 The committee appointed by the Government  to look  into  the selling aspects of SriLankan Airlines will takes steps  to sell it to TPG airlines by next month.
