No Truth in President’s Visit to India

Local newspapers stated last Friday that the President is due to attend a ceremony to be held in Nalanda University in Bihar in India with the spiritual leader Dalai Lama.

The Presidential Secretariat announced  that there is no scheduled visit by President Maithripala Sirisena to India in the next few days.

The Presidential Secretariat further confirms that President Maithripala Sirisena will not make any visit to India near future.

In the meantime, another news paper  today published a news item  stating that the President  is scheduled  to visit Russia  to seek  support  in the UNHRC session while resolution on Srilanka is taken.
