3 Options From JHU to Government on SAITM

The Jathika Hela Urumaya (JHU) Monday(13)  suggested the government to review the background to make the private medical college in Malabe a faculty attached to a state university such as the University of Moratuwa.   JHU Deputy General Secretary Anuruddha Pradeep made the observation while speaking to reporters at a press conference held in Colombo.
He also delivered three ultimatums to the government with respect to the issues relating to the South Asian Institute of Technology and Medicine (SAITM).
Pradeep pointed out the private medical college should be shut down or the authorities should review the background to make it a faculty attached to a state university.
If this is to happen, the mechanism to enroll students should be as equal as the process of a state university.
He  also pointed out a board of experts should be appointed to monitor the qualifications of the existing SAITM medical degree holders to conduct a background check to see whether they are qualified enough.
