New Virus Fever in Puttalam & Kalpitiya

An unidentified  virus fever, which  symptoms  are similar to Dengue fever is spreading in Kalpitiya and Puttalam areas said Medical Superintendent at Puttalam Hospital Sumith Attanayake. Due to this virus  attack a sudden decrease in the blood platelet count takes place.

As  this virus fever is  spreading like while fire in Puttalam town and surrounding areas, Puttalam Hospital Physiology Unit and the Children’s Unit are   said  to have been  severely overcrowded with patients.There is  severe  accommodation problem in the hospital. But Puttalam Hospital Medical Superintendent Sumith Attanayake said,  that each and every  patient coming to the hospital is  being examined and provided treatment with the utmost diligence.
