NPC Chief Wicky Insists Punishment to Those Committed Offence.

The Chairperson of the Secretariat for National Reconciliation, Ex President Chandrika Kumaratunga has made an official visit to the Northern Province recently. During her visit, she made the statement that Srilankan Victorious Army cannot be punished. In response, Northern Provincial Council Chief Minister C.Wickneswaren said, that this is not a new thing. Even former President Mahinda Rajapakshe too said the same thing. What we are insisting is not to punish the entire army for offences committed by a few , But to inquire, identify and punish all those army personnel committed offences during and after the war.Neither we nor the International Community insist on punishing the entire victorious army. This should be clearly understood, he concluded.
