Patrolling in the North Sea Doubled

With the detection of  13.5 Kg heroin  worth 16 million  in a boat in Kakesanthurai sea area, Srilanka Navy has doubled it’s
Coast Guard patrolling  in the north sea.  Srilanka has become  the nerve center for smuggling  drugs. North sea is used as a convenience transit point  to smuggle drugs. Out of the total drugs smuggled  in to Srilanka,  only 10% is used for local consumption, said Northern Navy Commander.
Captured  contraband and the boat along with  six Indians were handed over to the KKS police for prosecution , said Northern Navy Commander.
