Three Wheel Imports Should be Stopped – Nimal

Minister of Transport Nimal Siripala de Silva  while addressing a meeting  held in BMICH on’’ Thirashara ‘’ programme said, that there are more than 1.2 million three-wheelers operating in the country.  This is  much more than the requirement. In order to  reduce three wheel related accidents  fines had been increased to Rs 25,000 . The more we import three wheels the more accidents . Hence, it is time to take a firm decision  to stop import of three wheels in Srilanka. If we have to promote and develop ’’ Thirashara ‘’ programme accidents should be reduced to the minimum. Politicians should forget about their political differences, ethnic differences and religious differences to develop and promote ’’ Thirashara ‘’programme.
