Weather Forecast For 15th April 2017
The disturbance in the vicinity of Sri Lanka has developed in to a low pressure area and move away from Sri Lanka. There is no direct effect to the Sri Lanka but fairly strong winds at times can be expected over the island (up to 50kmph) and in the surrounding sea areas (up to 60kmph).
Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Sabaragamuwa & Central provinces and several places in the Western and Southern provinces.
Showers or thundershowers may occur at few places in the Uva & Eastern provinces after 2.00pm.
There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.
On the apparent northward relative motion of the Sun, it is going to be directly over the latitudes of Sri Lanka during 05th and 15th of April in this year. The nearest areas of Sri Lanka over which the Sun is overhead today (15th), are Maviddapuram, Karanavai, Kallikai and Vallipuram about 12:10 noon.
