Hirunika Premachandra Signs Nominations To Contest Under ‘Elephant’ Symbol

 

Western Provincial Councilor (WPC) Hirunika Premachandra (Baratha Premachandra’s daughter) signed nominations to contest the upcoming general election under the United National Party (UNP) ticket a short while ago.

She will be contesting from the Colombo District, Political sources stated.

Hirunika Premachandra was one of the key Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) members who campaigned for President Maithripala Sirisena during the January 2015 Presidential Election.

She was strongly opposed to the United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) decision to grant nominations to former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
