JO to Lodge A complaint With the Inter-Parliamentary Union

The Joint Opposition (JO) is planning to lodge a complaint with the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in connection with  the downsizing of security officers from former President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s security convoy recently.
A JO MP told this paper that the reason for complaining to the IPU is that the former President is an MP too and his rights have been violated by this government.
He further said, that by complaining to the IPU the JO is hoping to get the IPU to intervene in the issue as the sudden removal of 42 officers from Rajapaksa’s security convoy has put his life in danger.
