PM Fly to China

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and wife Maithree leave for China today to attend the’ One Belt, One Road’ summit in Beijing. Leaders of nearly 30 countries are scheduled to participate in the high-level discussions at the Summit.
The forum will focus on the benefits that can be derived by countries through President Xi Jing Ping’s Belt and Road initiative. The PM will be accompanied by a delegation that includes Minister of Special Assignments Dr. Sarath Amunugama, Minister of Urban Development, Water Supply and Drainage Rauff Hakeem, Minister of Law and Order and Southern Development Sagala Ratnayake, Minister of Development Strategies and International Trade Malik Samarawickrama, Prime Minister’s Secretary Saman Ekanayake, Additional Secretary Saman Athaudahetti, Director of East Asia & Pacific Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Savitri Panabokke, Acting Director of the Department of External Resources D. M. S. de Silva and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister, Sandra Perera.
