Kalutara Shooting 9 Suspects Further Remanded

Two prison guards and 5 inmates including an underworld leader Aruna Damith Udayanga alias ‘Samayan’, died in the shooting on the prison bus which was transporting inmates from Prison to the Kaduwela Court, on the 27th of February.

The nine suspects arrested in connection with the shooting on a prison bus in Kalutara have been further remanded till the 6th of June 2017.

The order was issued by Kalutara Chief Magistrate T Wijeratne yesterday. The request for bail by the attorneys representing the defendants was rejected by Court.
