SL Insists Another Certificate on Rice Imported From Exporters

Chairman of the Lanka Sathosa,  T.M.K.B Tennakoon said another certificate will be obtained from countries that export rice to Sri Lanka in the future.

Objective  is to ensure the quality of imported rice.

Sri Lanka did not import rice in the past other than Basmati rice. However,  other types of rice is now being imported from India due to a shortage of rice in the island, he concluded.
