Tissa Attanayake Given UPFA National List Slot (SEE FULL LIST)

 

Former Health Minister Tissa Attanayake has been nominated in the United People’s Freedom Alliance National List which was handed over to the Elections Commissioner today.

The former UNP General Secretary crossed over to support former President Mahinda Rajapaksa during the Presidential Election and was appointed Minister of Health on December 11, 2014. He claimed that UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe and then common candidate Maithripala Sirisena have signed a secret agreement. However, he was later arrested for allegedly forging this document.
