Postal Minister Condemns Postal Strike

Minister of Post and Muslim Religious affairs, M.H.Abdul Haleem said when thousands of people are affected by recent flood / landslides and recovering slowly, strike by postal employees is unreasonable and unjustifiable.
He further said, the Government has not taken any decision to give Galle Fort, Kandy and Nuweraeliya Post Offices to foreigners as claimed by them.
However, the convener of Joint postal union , Chinthaka Bandara said, that their front had struck work as from yesterday midnight and continue till tomorrow. Employees of all post offices and sub post offices numbering 5000 are on strike. He said, that the strike decision was taken due to the reason that the Government has decided to give the building built for Post office to run a tourist resort and other outstanding issues.
