Police Fired at the Robber & Killed

 Following a call made to the emergency number, a  police patrolling unit had arrived at the store, where  the robbery suspect  was in the act  of robbing a store at Warakapola town this morning(26).

The police confronted the robber and  opened fire at the suspect at the scene.

The suspect had  sustained life threatening injuries following the shooting and  succumbed to injuries upon his admission to the Warakapola hospital.

The post-mortem of the suspect will be conducted at the Warakapola base hospital today.
