BASL Asks lawyer Lakshan Dias to Identify Attacked 160 Churches

In a recent electronic media  talk show, Attorney-at-Law Lakshan Dias  alleged , that nearly 160 churches in the country had come under attack. This baseless statement has provoked the public as well as the government. Justice Minister Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe too has vehemently condemned this statement made by Attorney-at-Law Lakshan The Justice Minister had asked the Bar Association to take disciplinary action against Attorney-at-Law Lakshan Dias, if he failed to contradict this irresponsible and unfounded statement.
Bar Association President U.R.de Silva said,  that a decision was taken  at its monthly meeting  to call the list of churches attacked by naming each and every one in writing from Lawyer Lakshan, who made the controversial statement. The letter addressed to Dias was signed by Association Secretary Attorney at Law Amal Randeniya.
