Basil Wants Discrepancies Removed in Attanagalla PS

A Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna delegation led by former Minister Basil Rajapaksa met the officials of  the Elections Commission yesterday.
The Podujana Peramuna (PP) has pointed out that the setting apart of seats by the Delimitation Committee ahead of the LG polls for 2017 has resulted in many shortcomings.
Officials from the PP said the party had pointed this out when a group of representatives from political parties had met officials from the Elections Commission for talks yesterday.
Rajapaksa had opined that the allocation of seats for the Attanagalla PS had contained many discrepancies and pointed out that such errors should be removed before the polls or else many issues could crop up before the declaration of results.
Elections Chief Mahinda Deshapriya had assured them that he will submit the discrepancies, both technical and logistics, to be corrected by the subject minister shortly.
