In Response to Rishad’s Request, Rajitha Allocated Millions of Rupees to Develop Puttalam, Vanni Hospital etc….

During a discussion held  on  last Wednesday in the Health Ministry  with the Minister  of Health Rajitha Senaratne, Minister of Industry and Commerce brought to the notice of Rajitha several shortcomings observed in Puttalam, Vanni,Kalpitty, Silavathurai and in hospitals of the North Western Province and sought his assistance to attend to shortcomings pointed out and to develop them.
In double quick response, Minister Rajitha has allocated Rs 101 million to develop Puttalam hospitals and released Rs30 million immediately to attend and complete urgent requirements within next 6 months. Balance allocation of Rs 70 million will be released next year, Rajitha assured Rishad.
In respect of Kalpity hospital building project, Rajitha requested hospital authorities to submit a Project plan and allocated Rs 150 million. He promised Rishad to upgrade Kalpitty hospital within one month.
Though Silavathurai hospital in Mannar district was upgraded 3 months back, but only a doctor is attached to it and at times, when he is not available on leave or on go on other official purposes, no one is there to attend patients, Rishad brought to the notice of Rajitha, he ordered officers to release 9 Doctors, who complete their Degrees this year.
To meet equipment and instrument requirement of hospitals in Mannar district, Rs 50 million was allocated.  To reconstruct Mannar base hospital on 4 storied building with the foreign aid, Rs 550 million was allocated. Further Rajitha agreed to look into the shortcomings in Marichchukaddi. Silavathurai, Bandaraweli, Iranai Illuppaikulam, Vidaththal Thievu and Adamban hospitals in Mannar District.
