The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) media spokesperson, Sulakshana Jayawardane said that renewable energy is the solution to meet the ever increasing demand for energy .
Jayawardena further stated that Poonery has been identified as a suitable venue for the construction of a renewable energy plant and by the year 2020, it is expected to add solar and wind power plants to the national grid.
