HC Imposed Death Sentence on the Individual Accused & Convicted For the Murder of Journalist Melicia

Melicia Gunasekera, a graduate of the Univeristy of east London was 40 years at the time of her death, working as a journalist for the Sunday Times, an editor for At the time of her death, she was the Assistant Vice-President of Fitch Ratings.

She was murdered on 2^nd February 2014, while her parents and younger brother, had left for church to attend the Sunday mass that.  She was found lying lifelessly on the kitchen floor in a pool of blood.

Followed by this, the Colombo High Court imposed the death sentence on the individual accused and convicted for the murder of journalist Melicia Gunasekara, today (5).
