Minor Parties Ask for a Vice President Post

Several minor political parties headed by the Tamil Progressive Alliance have submitted to the Constitutional Committee a proposal to the effect that through the proposed new constitution a post of Vice President should be set up so as to represent minor ethnic groups.

Reports say that this proposal has been put forward jointly, by the All Sri Lanka People’s Congress, Sri Lanka Muslim Congress and the E.P.D.P. in addition to the Tamil Progressive Alliance.
