Chaminda Vaas appointed SLC as Fst Bowling Coach

Former Sri Lankan fast bowler Chaminda Vaas has been appointed as the fast bowling coach for Sri Lanka’s home series against India, replacing Champaka Ramanayake, who has reportedly resigned to take up a coaching role in Bangladesh.
Vaas is Sri Lanka’s most successful fast bowler having picked up 355 wickets in 111 Tests and 400 wickets in 322 ODIs. His international tally for Sri Lanka is second only to that of Muttiah Muralitharan.
Former right-arm seamer Champaka Ramanayake was first appointed national fast bowling coach in 2001 and has been in the national set up since then. The 52-year-old played 18 Tests and 62 One-Day Internationals for Sri Lanka after making his debut in 1987.
