CID Recorded Statement of Sivajilingam on Alleged  Threat on President & Insult to a Monk

Tamil National Alliance’s (TNA’s) representative in the Northern Provincial Council, M. K. Sivajilingam and two others  were accused of   throwing a threat to President Maithripala Sirisena’s visit to Mullativu and insulted a Buddhist monk during a media briefing in Jaffna a few weeks back.
The Criminal Investigation Department gave a call at 11:30 am on July 21 asking him to be present at the CID the following day in order to make a statement. In response he had explained his inability to travel to Colombo, and requested them  to permit him to make his statement at the Welvettithurai Police Station.
However, he was permitted to make  his statement at the Jaffna unit of the CID.  Accordingly, M. K. Sivajilingam and two others appeared before the CID today(31) and made their statement in connection with an incident involving the insulting of a Buddhist Monk and a statement made regarding the Mullivaikkal commemoration Day.
