Eight SSP’s of the Police Force Promoted

Eight Senior Superintendents of Police have recently received promotions as Deputy Inspector Generals of Police.

The Police Media Unit announced that these promotions were granted by the Inspector General of Police under the approval of the National Police Commission.

Accordingly, SSP Ravi Peiris of the Anuradhapura Division, SSP M A E Mahendra of the Kandy Division, SSP P C De Silva in charge of the Police Medical Division and SSP J I D A Gunathilaka in charge of the Highways Division have been promoted to the rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police.

Furthermore, the other four personnel to receive promotions to the rank of DIG are SSP D J Palihakkara of the Mannar Division, SSP S C Galappaththy of the Galle Division, SSP D M D J T Priyalal of the Negombo Division and the Director of the Criminal Investigations Department SSP B R S R Nagahamulla.

Meanwhile, five Chief Inspectors of Police have received transfers with immediate effect.

Accordingly, those who have received transfers were the CI’s attached to the Mannar, Anuradhapura, Eheliyagoda, Kelaniya and Kebithigollewa Police Divisions.
