Rajitha Wants Ranil to Reopen Avant Garde Case

At the opening ceremony of a new bus stand at Kirindiwela, in the presence of Wickremesinghe , Minister of Health Rajitha Senaratne has requested  the Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe to reopen the Avant Garde case after re-examining the Attorney General’s report, which states that there was no reason to take up the case.

Justice Minister Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe states that he has no lineage to promote. The only lineage he promoted was the Avant Garde lineage. The main suspect of the case was not even registered, although the Security Forces confiscated 3,600 weapons.

The Government Analysts stated that the series numbers of these weapons have worn off. AG’s Department states that there is no reason to file a case,” he said.

Senaratne  rejected the criticism levelled against him by Rajapakshe, stating that the Justice Minister has not done one thousandth of the initiatives he took as the Health Minister.
