Phase 2 of Priority Bus Lane From Today

Minister of Megapolis and Western Development Patali Champika Ranawaka said the Priority Bus Lane is being implemented with a view to strengthen the public transport service.

Under phase 1 ,   the Priority Lane System came into effect from the Moratuwa Cross Junction to Katubedda and from the Savoy Cinema to the Bambalapitiya Junction from the 15th of August.

Under phase  2, the Priority Bus Lane  system comes into effect from today(22). Accordingly, the priority lane for buses will be in effect from the Katubedda Junction to the Maliban Junction along Galle Road from today.

The Ministry of Megapolis and Western Development said buses travelling towards Colombo from 6am to 9am must adhere to the system.

A separate lane will be allocated for buses travelling towards Colombo while other vehicles will not be allowed along the lane during this timeframe.
