According to the 19th amendment to the constitution, if a member of Parliament lose the party membership he will also lose his parliamentary seats.
Sri Lanka Freedom Party is geared to take disciplinary action against MP Sanath Nishantha, MPs Prasanna Ranathunga, Pavitraa Wanniaarachchi, Rohitha Abegunawardhana, Dilum Amunugama, Lohan Ratwatte, and Prasanna Ranaweera and removed them from the party member ship. Hence , they are liable to lose their Parliamentary membership.
MP Sanath Nishantha in replying to a question raised by press said that if steps are to be taken to cancel his party membership he would take action against it.
