Supreme Court Ordered  to Return Houses  Taken Over By Mahinda Back to Legal Owners

In the year 2009 three houses  in a housing  apartment at Chapal lane Colombo 6 belongs to Sanmugam Sivaraja and Sivaraja Sarojini living in Switzerland  were acquired by the Mahinda regime.

These houses were confiscated under the emergency regulation introduced  on 7^th  January 2009 . These houses were acquired under section 7(1) of the above emergency regulation.

On cases filed by them, the Supreme Court declared that the acquisition was illegal and the houses should be handed over to its legitimate owners . Hence, Lawyers appeared for the applicants have requested the IGP  to  return  to the houses  back to them.
