Subjects  in New Syllabuses  of G.C.E Advanced Level

The Ministry of Education has announced that in order to accommodate students,  who failed  the Ordinary Level examination,  to follow G.C.E Advanced Level examination  lessons  will be introduced under two syllabuses   from next month.  This is being introduced under the project called ‘’ continuous  education for 13 years’’, said Ministry of Education Akila Viraj Kariyawasam.

The new two syllabuses  will be in addition to excising G.C. E. Advanced Level syllabuses under the caption common subject stream and applied subject stream.

Under  this project within first six months of   two years  it  is made compulsory for students  to complete 9 subjects under General syllabuses. Followed by this, students can select one subject among 26 subjects and complete it within 18 months.

26 subjects includes child psychology and security, health and social security, physical education and sports science, fashion design, graphic design, landscape design, aquatic technology education, construction technology .
