Request For Price Reduction of Certain Vehicles in Budget 2018
The Finance Minister is scheduled to present the 2018 Budget on 9th of November in Parliament.
Chairman of Vehicle Importers’ Association of Sri Lanka, Indika Sampath Merinchige said, that they have made a request to the Finance Minister, Mangala Samaraweera seeking a price reduction in electric cars and cars having engine capacity between 1000cc and 1500cc.
Mangala Samaraweera said to have considered price reduction in electronic cars. But no assurance was given about price reduction of cars having engine capacity between 1000cc and 1500cc .
He said they expect the prices of electric vehicles to come down, as Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera was also positing about it.
