The 8th Conference of the Association of SAARC Speakers and Parliamentarians (ASSP) is all set to commence today at Hotel Hilton, Colombo today.
This year’s summit will be chaired by President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister. Ranil Wickremesinghe will deliver the keynote address at the opening ceremony today. Speaker Karu Jayasuriya will deliver the welcome speech at the inauguration.
The conference is being conducted under the auspices of the Association of SAARC Speakers and Parliamentarians.
The theme of this year’s conference is “A platform for South Asian Parliamentary Members to work together on the 6 Agenda for Sustainable Development by the year 2030”.
