Ravi Karunanayake Raised Cut Off Marks of Grade V?

MP Bandula Gunawardena of the Joint Opposition yesterday accused former Minister of Finance Ravi Karunanayake was responsible to raise the cut off marks for scholarship.

This year the cut off marks for the Grade V Examination at district level was considerably increased. Ravi and the government must take the responsibility he said.

During Mahinda’s regime in the year 2015, when I was holding the post of Education Minister, I recommended to increase the   amount payable and the number of students’ intake. But the current government which took over from us has failed to implement it.

If we raise the number of students’ intake from 15,000 to 25,000 many students will get benefitted, he concluded.
