The Colombo High Court issued a warrant through Interpol for the arrest of a director of Gowers Corporation, Batapola Arachchige Oranella Iresha Silva yesterday.
High Court Judge Piyasena Ranasinghe had made this order taking into consideration the facts presented by Attorney General that the suspect had left the country and evading courts since the inception of inquiry into the matter.
Followed by this, Ornella Iresha Silva is involved in laundering money worth Rs.30 million through Gowers Corporate Services (Pvt) Limited was arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) a short while ago.
Gowers Corporate Services (Pvt) Limited was allegedly owned by MP Namal Rajapaksa.
