Ambalangoda underage girl Gang rape: Main suspect arrested at the Air Port, Search operation continues to arrest another 4 including a woman

 

The main suspect of the gang rape of a 15-year old school girl of Uurawatta in Ambalangoda was arrested by police while he was attempting to flee the country.

Katunayake police stated that the suspect was present at the Airport to leave for Dubai by an Air Arabia flight early this morning.

Initial investigations revealed the suspect is employed in Dubai, and has come home for a 3 month vacation.

Police also said that the suspect would be produced before Balapitiya Magistrate through Meetiyagoda police.

Police have also launched search operations in order to arrest another 4 suspects including a woman.

Police said all the suspects including the one who was arrested at the Airport are residents of Meetiyagoda.
